First Arizona Grave Marking ever in Arizona by the Sons of the American Revolution and Tubac
Posted by: Ivan Drechsler
Juan Manuel Ortega was a Tubac Presidio soldier during the time of the American Revolution. His military service to the Spanish ally of the American colonies thus contributed to the success of the American Revolution. He is buried under St.Ann's Church at the Presidio.
In attendance was the Honorary Consul of Spain reading a letter from the Ambassador of Spain and delivered to the President General of the Sons of the American Revolution, who was in attendance and presented remarks.
This is the very first grave marking for the revolution in Arizona!
