April and Ivan took possession of the Inn on May 2,2005 after a year long search to find just the right mix of lifestyle, culture, and Bed & Breakfast. They reviewed properties across the nation from North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Louisiana and California. The measurement bar was set high since they were residing in the Sedona, Arizona area. April was combining her talent in sales and food by being a Sysco Foods Representative, and Ivan was the Hospitality Manager for Cliff Castle Casino and completing his Masters in Tourism from George Washington University.

They found the Tubac area and Southern Arizona “the perfect storm” they were looking for; wide open spaces, art, proximity to a major metropolitan area and university, the diversity of being so close to the US/Mexican border, in a rural setting, as well as Tumacacori National Park and the first state park in Arizona. They found living history dating from the 1600’s in a rural setting and the skies so clear and viewable.

April is a graduate of Oregon State University and co-owned a high end audio studio for twenty-five years before moving to Sedona and Ivan has been in hospitality around the U.S. and the Caribbean getting his undergraduate degree from the Cornell Hotel School.

They look forward to welcoming lots of guests with their unique manner of hospitality.
